Another day of warm 90-degree weather, but we have to start putting showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. A cold front will approach the Hudson Valley, during the afternoon period on Tuesday, which will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

These should be isolated in nature, once that moves thought the region, it will lead to more sunshine for Wednesday and even some cooler temperatures. Another ridge of high pressure will build in and that should dominate our weather for the reminder of the week.

It has been a bit warmer overnight, so some early morning patchy fog on Tuesday morning could persist in certain areas. That should burn off by 8am or so.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, high near 90. A slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Early morning patch fog.

Tuesday night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy with a low near 64.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.

Thursday: Sunny, high near 84.
