A traffic stop turned into a foot pursuit in Ulster County on Monday.

On Monday, a Town of Saugerties Police Officer observed Fredrick Manfro, 28, of Saugerties operating a motor vehicle. The officer was aware of who Manfro was, and knew he did not have a driver's license.

Manfro was stopped by police around 10:30 am. Upon stopping, Manfro fled his vehicle, running into a wooded area. Yup, that's right, officers knew who he was and knew he didn't have a license and he still ran.

Manfro was apprehended a short time later following a foot pursuit. Manfro was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Trespassing, and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.

Manfro was processed and released pending a future court date in the Town of Saugerties Court.
