We've been talking about the chance for severe weather this afternoon throughout the Hudson Valley and now we have more information for you from the National Weather Service.

Around 1 this afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for the Hudson Valley until 8 pm tonight. This watch includes Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, and Columbia counties.

The line of storms is expected to move into our area between 4 and 6 today, in time for the evening commute. These storms are expected to bring torrential downpours, which could lead to flooding, as well as cloud-to-ground lightning and hail.

As this front moves throughout the Hudson Valley, should it prompt any other weather warnings, we will update you with that information throughout the afternoon. If you see severe weather developing in your area, please take cover and be safe before you report your conditions to the National Weather Service.
