A New Windsor man car's tinted windows led to his arrest for possession of drugs.

Tuesday members of the members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) pulled over 34-year-old Guy A. Cain, Jr., of New Windsor after he was allegedly spotted committing a traffic violation while exiting the traffic circle in the Town of Ulster.

As police investigated further, with the help of a sheriff’s K-9 and a search warrant, 15 grams of powdered cocaine was allegedly found hidden in Cain’s car in a hydraulically controlled hidden compartment, also known as a “trap”.

Cain was charged with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and a traffic infraction for unlawful tint.

Cain was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secured bond. He is due back in court on a later date.

The following agencies have members assigned to URGENT: Ulster County Sheriff's Office, Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Town of Woodstock Police, Town of Lloyd Police, Town of Shandaken Police, Ulster County Probation, Town of Plattekill Police, Town of Marlborough Police, Town of New Paltz Police, Village of Ellenville Police and the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
