Finally, September has arrived. It is the month that segues us from summer to fall. It is also the month that we lovers of the "Sprout" can finally head out to our favorite farm market for this year fresh of the stalk harvest. Yes, September is the month of the Brussels Sprout in New York.

I know that many of you are not Brussels Sprout fans. Most people prefer to have them cooked with bacon to make them more palatable. But the truth is fresh Brussels Sprouts like any fresh veggie can be quite tasty when they are cooked simply to keep in the favor. A bit of olive oil in a pan with fresh farm market sprouts roasted in the oven or on the grill can end up your favorite new green vegetable.

There is no need to wait for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner to enjoy a side dish of Brussels Sprouts. They are the perfect late summer veggie with whatever you are still putting on the grill.
