A neighbor helped police catch a Sullivan County man who was allegedly seen forcing his way into a home.

New York State Police at Wurtsboro charged Nathaniel P. Palmatier, of Bloomingburg with 2nd-degree burglary, a class C felony.

Tuesday, a resident on Sullivan Street in the Village of Wurtsboro noticed a man force his way into a nearby home and called 911.

The witness later saw the same man exit the residence and flee on foot to a waiting vehicle. The Sullivan County 911 Center was able to put out a description of the man and the vehicle thanks to the witness.

State Police found the vehicle and suspect a short time later on Pine Street in the Village of Wurtsboro. Officials than identified the man as Palmatier.

Palmatier was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Cour and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $20,000 cash bail.
