Police in Sullivan County are mourning the untimely death of a Deputy Sheriff who died at the age of 45.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Facebook page reported “with deep sadness,” the untimely death of Brian Yewchuck.

Deputy Sheriff Yewchuck is described as a loyal and well-respected 10-year member of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Jail Division.

He died Friday, May 13 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He was escorted home to Sullivan County on Tuesday.

During his trip home, Yewchuck received a salute from his fellow Deputy Sheriffs. Video of the salute, courtesy of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, can be seen below.

Deputy Yewchuck will lie in repose at the Rassmussen Funeral Home located at 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY. Visitation if scheduled for Friday between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service is set for Saturday at 11:00 am at the Rassmussen Funeral Home.
