State Police Release Names of Trooper and Victim in Fatal Crash

The State Police have released the names of the trooper and victim of the fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Friday evening in the Town of Washington. 

Trooper Cody J. Vetter, a four year veteran of the State Police, was responding to a report of a person with a knife at a Millbrook High School football game when the accident occurred.

Trooper Vetter was traveling on Route 44 with his cruiser's lights and sirens activated when he was involved in a collision with a motorcycle operated by 45-year-old Warren C. Corbitt of Brooklyn.

Corbitt was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

Trooper Vetter was transported to Vassar Brothers Medical Center where he was evaluated and released with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
