A Department of Corrections and Community Supervision employee has been arrested after stealing department funds.

According to a press release from the New York State Police, Troop K, on Tuesday May 29,  the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks in cooperation with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations, and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office arrested 49 year old, Maria C. Fey from Leyden.,

Fey was arrested for grand larceny in the 3rd degree, eighteen counts of forgery in the 2nd degree, all class D felonies, and falsifying business records in the 1stdegree, a class E felony.

It's being reported that Fey stole up to $3,000 from accounts owned by State Corrections. Back on May 14th, 2018 there was a report was made to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Livingston of possible forgery and theft of funds from State Corrections Banks account. The investigation later found that "Fey, an employee of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, stole in excess of $3,000 from accounts owned by State Corrections."

Fey was later arraigned before the city of Hudson Court, and released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear before the Court on May 31, 2018, at 8:30 a.m.
