Have you looked into solar panels for your home? I did and here is what I found out. The house that you live in has to be facing a certain direction (mine is not). You will also have to make sure that you do not have trees that are blocking your roof, because blocking the sun when you are relying on it to charge your panels is not a good thing.

In the last week Tesla has come out with information on a solar roofing tile that they are preselling now to investors. Will solar eventually be the way to go? Only you can decide if it works for you.

Google has released an infrared image tool that you can see if your home is a good candidate for solar power. The site is Google Project Sunroof and can be located Google.com/sunroof. After you enter your address, you will see a geo photo of your home, showing you how many hours of usable sunlight that you may have per year and approximately the total size of the panels you would need for your home.

Once you get that far in the process, you can input the average cost of your electric bill and see if solar is an option for you at this time. If it is, there are a few providers listed that you could contact for more information.

Have you already switched to solar in your home?
