Should the Hudson Valley Prepare for a White Christmas?
Early forecasts may have some great news for Hudson Valley residents hoping to see a white Christmas this year.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to stay in the 30s all week before warming up on Friday. Those warmer temperatures will bring a changing weather pattern for the weekend which will likely include precipitation in the form of snow.
There is a 70% chance of snow on Saturday into Christmas Eve on Sunday. As of Wednesday morning there was also a 50% chance of additional, snowfall on Christmas Day. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 30s on Christmas, which would allow for some accumulations to build.
While many people dream of a white Christmas, those who are planning on traveling for the holiday might see the snowfall as a nightmare. While there is no major snow storm expected for the holiday weekend, the threat of accumulations might make driving a little more challenging. Because it is still early, forecasters say there is also a chance the snow could turn into rain.
Be sure to check back towards the end of the week for more updates.
