Hopefully your cable provider has you signed-up for the Hallmark Channel because you can not miss a minute of this must watch competition. This Sunday and Monday February 17th and 18th the Hallmark Channel will broadcast the American Rescue Dog Show at 8 pm. Hosted by Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell this canine competition is solely for the dogs we love so much our rescues.

Ten years ago I welcomed home my fur baby, Minnie Pearl. Pets Alive in Middletown had rescued her from Tennessee along with her Mom, her brothers and her sister. The minute we met her we knew we had to adopt her that day. Pearl is the most amazing dog. She could win in any of the categories they will be competing in this weekend but I'm confident that we rescue Moms and Dads would say that about all of our rescued pets. Pearl's to areas of expertise are belly rubs and couch potato for sure but I am confident she could also pull off short and sweet.

Categories also include Best in Underbite, Best in Special Needs and there is even Best in Snoring. Let's face it if you are the parent of a rescue dog you pretty much agree they are best in everything. They say they know you picked them and they love you for it. I believe that is true, but I also think they pick us and we love them right back. So this President's weekend enjoy the extra day off if you have it and spend some quality time on your couch with your dog watching what is sure to be one of the sweetest and funniest competitions on TV.
