Spooky season is almost here.

Who are we kidding, it basically already is Halloween. Especially because there are about a million Spirit Halloween stores already opened in the Hudson Valley.

With that being said, there are a ton of haunted and spooky things to do here in the Hudson Valley and around New York state. One event will get you moving as if your life depended on it.

The Zombie Run 5K will be held in Lake George this year on Saturday, September 29th at Great Escape according to the Haunted History Trails of New York State website. Registration for the race varies by level, but anywhere from $25 to $50.

Your goal at the Zombie Run is to make it out alive, aka not get your flag taken away by a blood thirsty zombie. You'll be given three flags that will count as your three lives. The objective is to make it to the finish line with at least one flag.

If you're not ready to outrun the zombies you can watch the race from safe zones along the course. You also have the option to run as a team, it's always good to have someone watching your back.

Are you fast enough to outrun the zombies? Sign ups are open now at Active.Com.

Proceeds from this event will be going to the American Red Cross.
