Roland V. Deagostino, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was 96. The son of the late Baldesarre and Francesca (Rizzi) Deagostino, he was born September 2, 1920 in Newburgh. He was married to the late Evelyn A. Deagostino.

Roland attended Newburgh Free Academy and served our country in the US Army during WWII.

He is survived by his children, Fred Deagostino and his wife Linda of Wallkill and Nancy Greer and her husband Richard of Walker Valley; grandchildren, Jason, Phil and Loren Greer and Erich and Jeffrey Deagostino; great-grandchildren Ryan, Terry and Vincent Greer, Emma and Ava Deagostino, and Alec Petrone; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife Evelyn he was predeceased by his siblings, Olga Sheehan, Mary Ciacio, Rose Stanford, Delia, Cesare, Alfred, Faustine and Pelino Deagostino

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, May 24 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 25 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
