Richard S. Gione, 77, an area resident for 13 years, died on September 12, 2017 at home with his wife by his side.

Born in the Bronx on July 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Gione. Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Germany. He owned and operated Rich Tone, Inc., an interior design firm in Brooklyn, for over 40 years until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed carpentry especially making birdhouses.

On May 1, 1982 at Marina del Rey in the Bronx, Richard married Rosemarie Gambacorta Gione who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Richard J. Gione and his fiancée Elizabeth Urena of Carmel; his grandchildren, Larissa Gione, and Elijah and Ethan Urena; and his cats, Rusty and Max.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
