Frigid Hudson Valley temperatures and snow doesn't necessarily put you in the mood for a run outdoors. But you may want to make training part of your New Year's resolution if you plan to run in the 2017 Walkway Over the Hudson Marathon.

Registration is open now for the two-day event, which takes place June 10-11, 2017. There are four different race options: the full marathon, a half marathon, Mid Hudson Road Runners 5K and the ThinkDIFFERENTLY Dash.

The race kicks off at Marist's Historic Cornell Boathouse and offers a course along the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess County Rail Trail and Walkway Over The Hudson.

No bikes, strollers, dogs or roller blades are allowed during theses races and runners are advised not to wear headphones.

Walkway members get a 10 percent discount if you register before the end of 2016. Memberships begin at $40. Volunteers are needed to ensure race weekend goes smoothly, if you've got some time to spare you can register here.
