A popular snack sold in New York may cause a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction."

The FDA announced the recall of crackers sold nationwide. This recall affects 1,855 cases of crackers. The crackers may have been distributed in retail stores nationwide, according to the FDA.

Some boxes were inadvertently filled with foil-wrapped pouches of animal-shaped crackers, which contain egg and milk, allergens that are not declared on the box label.

No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date, officials say.
