A Putnam County man was arrested for his second DWI in a 10-year period.

State Police in Yonkers pulled over a car on the New York State Thruway for allegedly speeding. Police say while they interviewed the driver, 33-year-old Jared K. Singer of Mahopac, they determined he was drunk at the time of the traffic stop.

Singer was transported and processed at State Police Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was allegedly 0.10 percent.

According to authorities, because Singer has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, he was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class E felony and a number of traffic and vehicle violations.

Singer was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on Sept. 16.
