New Paltz staple P & G's Restaurant and Bar has opened their doors after completing a round of renovations and upgrades.. Next time you stop in you'll notice some changes to the bar along with the expanded kitchen which led to the relocation of Ricci's Barbershop. But perhaps the most noticeable change you'll see on the interior will be the all-new bathrooms.

After announcing their temporary closure on social media several weeks ago, it was just a matter of time before they got back to business. And now it just so happens their first night back, we had a nice snowstorm to greet them when doors opened. But P & G's is back for the long haul, they've got strong ties to the community that goes back more than 50 years. So even if the weather kept you in that night, there will be other times.

According to their website, the building that houses P & G's was built in 1900 and first opened in June of that year. Fast forward several decades, current owner Mike Beck's father Ed bought the building in 1969 but it wasn't until the 80s that the name was changed to its current form. Mike took over the business in the 90s and continues to run it to this day.

Will you be stopping into P & G's for a bite and a pint next time you're in New Paltz?
