An Ulster County resident is accused of illegally dumping trash down an embankment and getting caught before potentially doing it a second time.

Recently, DEC Environmental Conservation Officers in Ulster County investigated an illegal dumping complaint on Berme Road in the Town of Wawarsing, where bags of garbage had been dumped over an embankment.

The ECOs went through several of the bags and were able to find a number of personal documents, all belonging to the same person, officials say.

The officers then went to the address on the documents and noticed a parked car in the home’s driveway allegedly loaded with garbage.

Officers spoke with the unnamed resident and showed the resident the documents found at the scene.

A ticket was issued for the unlawful disposal of solid waste, returnable March 3 to the Town of Wawarsing Court.
