A teenager allegedly impaired by drugs in Ulster County crashed his car into a tree, injuring a minor.

Brendan B. Genovese, 19, of Wallkill was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony under Leandra’s law; the misdemeanor of driving while ability impaired by drugs; and several traffic violations.

On Tuesday just after 11:30 p.m., deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported personal injury automobile accident on Route 213 in the Town of Esopus.

An investigation determined that a 2003 Buick SUV driven by Genovese left the road and struck a tree, police say. Two passengers, including a 15-year-old were transported to the Health Alliance Broadway Campus with minor injuries.

Genovese is accused of crashing his car while driving impaired by drugs.

Genovese was arraigned in Town of Esopus Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail, or $3,000 secured bond.
