Local police used surveillance, vehicle stops, K-9 searches, and several interviews to arrest an Orange County man on felony weed charges.

Recently, a Monroe resident notified Monroe police about possible drug activity in their neighborhood. Monroe Detectives investigated and quickly confirmed the resident's suspicions, police say.

On Friday, the Monroe Police Department Detective Unit, Patrol Unit and the K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant at 31-year-old Vidal Midland’s Monroe home.

Officers allegedly recovered a large amount of marijuana as well as a substantial amount of cash.

Midland was charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Vidal was turned over to The Orange County Sheriff's Office. Bail was set at $5,000. He is due back in Monroe Village Court on Dec. 21.

On Facebook the Monroe Police Department applauded the neighbor for reaching out and reminded to residents, "If you see something, say something."
