Two alleged Hudson Valley heroin dealers were arrested after police say they found over $40,000 worth of heroin.

On Friday, the Middletown Police Department Narcotics Unit concluded a year-long investigation into the sale and trafficking of heroin in the Middletown area, with the execution of two no-knock search warrants.

The search warrants were executed on Beattie Avenue and Ogden Street in Middletown. A search of the two locations yielded a total of 4,131 bags of heroin, with a street value of more than $40,000, police say.

Two motor vehicles were also seized, a Jaguar X-type sedan and a Dodge Charger.

According to police, the bags of heroin contained two different labels, “The Punisher” and “Down Low,” both are well-known within the area.

The alleged target of the investigation, 57-year-old Luis Ortiz of the Town of Wawayanda, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies. Jose A. Colon, 43, of Middletown was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
