Police Seek Answers in Fatal Poughkeepsie Shooting

A shooting Tuesday morning that left one dead has left City of Poughkeepsie police seeking answers. 

City 911 received multiple calls reporting a shooting around 9:45 am Tuesday. Units responded to the scene on S. Grand Avenue, and found a 42-year old Poughkeepsie resident in the driver's seat of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim's name is being with held at this time, so the family can be notified. According to a press release, this was not a random act of violence.
