Police: Pregnant Woman Pushed Down Flight of Stairs

A pregnant woman was pushed down a flight of stairs during a domestic dispute in Ulster County. 

On Tuesday, Saugerties Police responded to a residence for a reported physical domestic dispute.

During the dispute, Umar Abdell Raheem Johnson, 26 of Poughkeepsie allegedly pushed the victim down a flight of stairs causing injury to the victim who is three months pregnant.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.

Umar Abdell Raheem Johnson fled the scene before police arrived, and was located on a UCAT Bus in the Town of Ulster. He was taken into custody.

He was charged with Reckless Endangerment, and Assault. He was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
