A parole absconder was arrested in the City of Poughkeepsie with a loaded revolver. 

Around 10:30 pm Friday, City of Poughkeepsie Police Officer and Detectives arrested Corey Latimer, 23, of Poughkeepsie who was sought a a parole absconder.

Police Department members spotted Latimer, and as they attempted to execute the arrest, Latimer fled.

Following a short foot chase, Latimer was taken into custody and found with a loaded .32 caliber revolver.

Latimer was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon second-degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and as a parole absconder.

Latimer is being held in Poughkeepsie lockup pending his arraignment.

The officers and detectives involved in the arrest were working a Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail.  GIVE is funded through the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services.
