Police: Orange County Man Sexually Assaulted Child
An Orange County man is in jail without bail over accusations that he sexually assaulted a child.
On Monday, members of the Orange County Child Abuse Unit charged 61-year-old Jose A. Majano of Newburgh with predatory sexual assault of a child, a class A felony.
Majano was arrested after an investigation determined that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with a child younger than 13, police say.
Authorities didn’t give the sex or hometown of the child. Nor did they release how their investigation led to the arrest.
Majano was arraigned in the City of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail with no bail set.
