New Paltz Police are investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit and run accident. 

Police in New Paltz are on the look out for a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on May, 7, 2017, at approximately 4:30 am.

Police responded to two 911 calls reporting that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian and left the scene. The accident occurred in the Southside Apartment Complex parking lot located off Southside Avenue in the Village of New Paltz.

the victim and several witnesses were walking in the parking lot when a vehicle approached quickly from the rear of the complex. The victim was struck by the front driver side area of the offender's vehicle, and knocked to the ground.

The other witnesses at the scene did yell for the driver to stop. the victim was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The victim has been released from the hospital, but is continuing medical treatment due to the injuries sustained during the accident.

The offending vehicle is believed to be a dark colored sport utility vehicle.
