Police arrested a man for allegedly driving while intoxicated in the Hudson Valley with two young children in the car.

State Police from Cornwall stopped a vehicle after 3:00 a.m. Friday on I-87 for speeding. Officials say the driver of the vehicle, Shateek Betts, 33, of Staten Island, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with 2 children, ages 10 and 13.

Betts was taken into custody, transported, and processed at State Police Montgomery, where his blood alcohol content was allegedly determined to be 0.11%.

Betts was charged with driving while intoxicated which a child in the vehicle, a class E felony, and a number of vehicle and traffic violations.

Betts was arraigned before the Town of New Windsor Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.

The children were turned over to a sober family member.
