A Middletown man has been charged with making a terroristic threat, after allegedly said he was going blow up a local elementary school. 

The Town of Wallkill Police responded to a "Bomb Threat" at the William A. Carter Elementary School.

Once on the scene at the school, officers met with staff of the school who reported during an earlier phone conversation with an irate parent, the parent threatened to blow up the school.

A subsequent investigation led Town of Wallkill Detectives to a City of Middletown residence where Kendell J. Thomas, a 35 year old male was arrested.

Thomas was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat. He was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court. Thomas was released until his next court date.

He is scheduled to back in the Town of Wallkill Court next week.
