Police Investigate Shooting in Poughkeepsie

Police are investigating a shooting that left one man in the hospital. 

At approximately 4:58 p.m. Monday 911 received a call reporting a man shot on N Perry Street.

Responding officers found a 23-year old male shot in the foot. He had been shot in the area of 181 Mill Street.

He was transported to a local hospital to treat his wound.

A short time later Alvin Kiggundo, a 22-year old Poughkeepsie resident, was found in possession of a stolen 9mm handgun.

Kigguno was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

He was held pending his arraignment.
