Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Ulster County

An accident involving two motorcycles left one person dead Sunday afternoon.

Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in the Town of Shawangunk Sunday Afternoon.

Sunday, at approximately 12:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident at Burlingham Road and Twin Oaks Lane in the Town of Shawangunk.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that at least two motorcycles were involved in a collision.

A 2017 Harley Davidson traveling South on Burlington Road, left the roadway and struck a ditch. The operator sustained injuries and was air-lifted to Westchester Medical Center.

The passenger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2007 Harley Davidson traveling south on Burlingham Road was also involved in the collision.

The operator sustained facial trauma and was treated at the scene.
