Officials are asking for help after one car was stolen and others broken into in the Hudson Valley.

The New Paltz Police Department is investigating several larcenies from vehicles and a stolen vehicle from the area of Church Street in the Village of New Paltz.

On Tuesday around 9:30 a.m., the police department began receiving calls from residents on Church Street reporting their vehicles were entered overnight with property stolen from several of the vehicles.

Also, a light blue 2005 Town and Country minivan was stolen from a home on Church Street, police say.

According to police, it's the second series of larcenies from vehicles in New Paltz within the last month. The prior incident also included a stolen vehicle that was later recovered in New York City.

New Paltz police urge residents to always keep their vehicles locked and remove valuables inside their vehicles overnight.

The New Paltz Police Department is investigating today’s incidents, as well as last month’s and, are asking anyone who may have information to contact the police department at 845-255-1323. All calls will be kept confidential.
