Police in Dutchess County investigated a one-car accident on Interstate 84 that sent a mother and her two young children to the hospital.

On Saturday at around 2:25 p.m., State Police from the East Fishkill responded to investigate a one-car auto collision that occurred in the area of mile post marker 69.7 westbound Interstate 84.

Police say 25-year-old Araceli Rodriguez, of Shelton, Connecticut, was traveling west on I-84 in the left-hand lane and lost control of her 2006 Kia while attempting to change lanes.

The vehicle exited the left shoulder of the roadway and overturned after striking an embankment.

Rodriguez and her two children, a 2-year-old daughter and a 2-month-old son, were transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police were assisted by Brewster Fire Department.
