A Hudson Valley man was arrested after police say a pregnant woman climbed out of a mobile home window to escape his attacks.

Derek Daniel Hamilton was arrested on Monday after the woman called police to a Florida trailer park where she says she was being victimized. According to ocala-news.com, the 9-week pregnant woman says Hamilton woke up and "started acting crazy." Hamilton allegedly followed her into the bedroom where he refused to let her leave, pushing her down onto the bed. During the scuffle, the 22-year-old man is accused of hitting the woman's lip and biting her arm.

After escaping out of the trailer's window, the woman called the sheriff's department, who arrived with a k9 unit. After repeatedly refusing to leave the home, police say Hamilton eventually surrendered to authorities and was arrested for aggravated battery of a pregnant victim and resisting an officer without violence.

Hamilton, who is originally from Kingston has been living in Silver Springs, Florida. This is not his first arrest since moving to the Sunshine State from the Hudson Valley. Hamilton has been jailed four times since 2015 on multiple battery and resisting arrest charges. The victim claims that Hamilton suffers from schizophrenia disorder and has not been taking his medicine.

The former Kingston resident is being held at the Marion County Jail on $3,000 bond and will appear in court on September 19.
