An Ulster County man is behind bars after police say they found a large amount of heroin and other drugs.

On Wednesday, members of the Kingston Police Department finished an investigation into drug sales and trafficking in the City of Kingston.

Dezmond A. Stokes, 42, of Cottekill was arrested after he was allegedly found with heroin, cocaine and marijuana on Gill Street in Kingston.

A search warrant at his home resulted in the seizure of a large amount of heroin, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police say.

Stokes was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Additional charges are pending, police say.
