Police: Florida Man Arrested For Sexual Abuse in Ulster County

State Police in Highland have arrested a Florida man for sexual abuse in multiple Hudson Valley towns. 

Jason Awal, age 43 of Port St. Lucie, FL was arrested by State Police on September 5, 2017 as a result of a warrant investigation.

Awal was arrested and charged in the Town of Saugerties and the Town of Plattekill with Sexual Abuse First-degree (Class D Felony).

The incidents occurred over 10 years ago when the victims were less than thirteen years old at the time of the crime.

Awal was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail or $200,000 bond.

The State Police were assisted by the Town of Newburgh Police Department.
