Police believe a Dutchess County man robbed the same local bank on two different occasions in March.

On Wednesday, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department charged 32 year-old Adam S. Malavase of Town of Poughkeepsie with robbery, a felony.

Malavase was arrested after an investigation into a bank robbery from Wednesday morning at the Citizen’s Bank on Vassar Road in Poughkeepsie, police say.

Police were told, that the suspect, Malavase, threatened the use of a firearm and took an unknown amount of cash.

Responding officers were provided with a vehicle description, obtained by a bank security officer, which the suspect was likely driving.

While officers were conducting an initial investigation at the bank, other officers located a car that matched the description at a home in the town.

Malavase was found and arrested. Malavase is also accused of robbing the same Citizen’s Bank on March 8. Charges from the March 8 robbery are pending.

Malavase was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond. He is due to reappear on March 20.
