New York State Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who suffers from mental illness. 

State police from Cortland are seeking the public's assistance in locating 59-year-old Joseph Sharpe, of Mohegan Park, in Cortlandt, New York.

The man left Mohegan Park located on Lexington Avenue in the Town of Cortlandt on January 26, 2017.  He is described as being 5’8” tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing grey sweat pants, a white t-shirt, a black nylon jacket and a black baseball cap with “New York City” written on the front.

Sharpe has connections in Yonkers, and police believe he may be staying in a homeless shelter. Sharpe also suffers from metal illness and may be in need of medication.
