After police discovered a home with several dead and malnourished dogs a Hudson Valley woman has been charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty.

On Friday New York State Police were sent to check on the welfare of a resident at Majestic Drive in the Town of Stockport.  As troopers entered the residence they allege they saw three dead dogs inside the home as well as several malnourished dogs in need of medical attention. State Police say the house was in awful condition with urine and feces covering the floor. The dogs also did not have any access to food or water.

An investigation revealed that 42-year-old Patricia J. Gregory, of Stockport, had moved out of the home in November of 2015. The Columbia County woman was located on Saturday and charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty under Article 26 of the Agriculture and Markets Law.

Gregory was transported to prison where she was given a ticket to appear at the Town of Stockport Court on February 1st.

The malnourished dogs were taken to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society. They are now up for adoption. To help or adopt the animals you can contact the Humane Society at 518-828-6044 or visit their website.
