UPDATE - 12:31 PM: It has been reported that three people are dead following the shooting in New Milford.

According to the News Times, police say two people, a man and a woman, were found deceased inside of a truck in New Milford, while one was found inside of another vehicle in Dover. While the names of the deceased have yet to be released, it is believed that the man found in Dover is the suspect in the previous shootings, and reportedly took his own life.

Rep-am.com reports that Route 55 (Webatuck Rd.) is still closed at the Route 7 intersection.


CT and NY State Police and New Milford Police are investigating a shooting this morning at the intersection of Rt. 7 and Rt. 55 in the Gaylordsville section of New Milford.

An article in the NewsTimes quoted an official with Litchfield County Dispatch as saying that emergency personnel were called to assist two gunshot victims near the intersection this morning. The condition of the victims was not immediately available.

The area has been closed to traffic, with people being asked to avoid the area. Photos on social media show two fire trucks blocking access to Rt. 55. According to the News-Times' report, there are 4 vehicles at the scene, all with New York plates. The window of one of the vehicles, a black pickup truck. is blown out. Potential witnesses are being interviewed.

As this is a fluid situation, police are not releasing any details about the shooting at this time. We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
