WAPPINGERS FALLS – Paul E. Trottier, 91, an area resident since 1978, died on April 23, 2017 at Putnam Hospital Center surrounded by his family. He previously lived in Carmel.

Born in Swanton, VT on June 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Patrice and Alberta (Fortin) Trottier. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Paul retired as owner of Trottier Builders in Wappingers Falls which he opened in 1959. He was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.

On December 5, 1945 in VT, Paul married Irene (Murray) Trottier who predeceased him in 2001. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Lynn and Barbara Trottier of Fishkill, James and Dorothy Trottier of Queensbury, and Cathy and Roger Carter of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Marcy (George), Stacy (Ryan), Heather (Mike), Christopher, Rory (Tanya), and Kelli; his 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters and their spouses, Priscilla Schneider, Terry and Larry Lorenz, and Peggy and Paul LaPointe; his sister-in-law, Harriet Trottier; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by 6 siblings.

The family would like to thank all those who gave their love and support, especially over the last few weeks.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial will be on Saturday at 12 pm at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Milton, VT with military honors.
