Patrick Weir, a Poughquag Resident, Dies at 80

Patrick Weir, a resident of Poughquag and formerly of Mahopac, NY, died Saturday May 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Co. Roscommon, Ireland on March 28, 1937, Patrick was the son of Patrick and Margaret (Byrne) Weir.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Eileen of 55 years, a devoted father of Kevin and his wife Peggy, Patrick and his wife Diane, Michael and his wife Maureen, Bernadette Arceri and her husband John; proud grandfather of his fifteen loving grandchildren, John, Dan, Hannah, Matt, Sean, Kayla, Patrick, Michael, Caitlin, Liam, Madeline, Declan, John, Brian and Jillian; his brother John of Ireland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Catherine and Josephine; and his brother, Edward.

He loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their many activities. He enjoyed playing golf, listening and dancing to Irish music, and was an active member in the Putnam Emerald Association. He always put others needs before his own and found time to help anyone.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:30am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
