Orange County to Celebrate National Adoption Day November 17th

This is an annual event to celebrate families who adopt. 

Orange County Family Court and the Department of Social Services will host a ceremony to celebrate National Adoption Day at 2 pm on Friday November 17.

The reception will be held in Courtroom No. 7 of the Orange County Courthouse, located at 285 Main Street in Goshen, and will include families who have adopted children.

November is National Adoption Month and National Adoption Day is annual event which encourages courts and communities to come together to finalize adoptions and celebrate families who adopt.

Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus said:

Parents who adopt play a valuable role in our communities and provide a nurturing family environment to children in need of stability in their lives. It is important to recognize the invaluable contributions that these families make and thank them for their dedication to these children

45 children were adopted from foster care in 2016 and 26 have been adopted this year.
