A jury found an Orange County man guilty of using a loaded gun to commit a robbery.

On Friday in Orange County Court, a jury trial found 20-year-old Michael Robinson of Newburgh guilty of criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrested.

On July 27, 2016, Robinson was the passenger of a car pulled over by City of Newburgh Police. The car was stopped as a part of a gun point robbery at a home in Newburgh.

After the car was stopped, Robinson fled. With the help of police K-9 Baine, Robinson was found and arrested.

A loaded semiautomatic handgun was found under Robinson’s seat, police say.

"The City of Newburgh will be safer during the years that this defendant is incarcerated,” Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler saidl

Robinson faces up to 15 years in prison when sentenced in May.
