New Hudson Valley Scam Involves Your Children
An on-going scam in the Hudson Valley is trying to take advantage of parents by involving their children.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has received reports from residents in the Brewster, Carmel and Mahopac areas that they received emails and telephone calls from people claiming to be from a company called Youth Sports Publications out of New Windsor asking for money to create yearbooks for Hudson Valley Little League organizations.
Little League officials told the sheriff’s office that they currently aren’t conducting any yearbook fundraisers, police say. It's unclear how many people have fallen for the scam.
Anyone who may have been the target of the scam should call their local police department or the Sheriff’s Office at (845) 225-4300.
