Police believe a woman who cashed a forged check in the Hudson Valley is part of the national “Felony Lane Gang,” which has stolen millions across the United States.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Wappinger are investigating and alleged identity theft ring that police call the "Felony Lane Gang.”

Recently, in photos that can be seen above, a woman in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee allegedly cashed a forged check at a bank in Fishkill. The woman is part of the “Felony Lane Gang” identity theft ring, police say.

According to State Police, the suspects have stolen a number of purses and wallets from cars parked in the Hudson Valley. The items are stolen so the suspects can obtain credit cards, check books and identification. Some of the vehicles were broken into, while some were left unlocked for short periods of time while the victims went into a business or dropped their children off at daycare.

The suspects then made fraudulent purchases or cashed forged checks against the victims’ accounts, police say. Victims have been identified all over the Hudson Valley and across the country.

Police remind everyone to lock their cars and remove valuables when their car is parked.

Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect seen above is asked to contact Investigator Kent Smith at the Wappinger barracks at 845-677-7300 Refer to case # 7580592.
