A Sullivan County man sold a boat trailer using the vehicle identification number (VIN) of a trailer another person had paid him to store, New York State Police (NYSP) said.

Andrew S. Concors, 55, of Monticello was charged with grand larceny and scheme to defraud, both felonies.

A Rock Hill resident contacted police after discovering the VIN of the trailer he purchased from Concors for $1,350 was registered to a trailer owned by another Sullivan County resident, according to the NYSP press release. The other Sullivan County resident had hired Concors to deliver and store her boat and trailer. The woman told authorities she believed Concors either altered or stole her trailer and replaced it with another.

Concors was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Town Court and sent to Sullivan County Jail on $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday.

NYSP advises anyone who purchased a boat or boat trailer from Concors to verify their VIN matches the title and receipt and to contact them if any discrepancies are discovered.
