A Sullivan County grand jury indicted 36-year-old Rickey Bolden on several counts, including first degree murder and first degree robbery from an incident at the Padress Bungalows in Thompson in September.

According to the indictment, Bolden used a sharp weapon to hit 61-year-old John Ferrari of Westwood, NJ, during an attempted robbery. He is then alleged to have stolen Ferrari's car, attempted to take a DVR recorder from the property during a burglary and tampered with the DVR.

District Attorney Jim Farrell said Ferrari worked as the caretaker of the bungalow colony and was on duty at the time of the robbery. The incident occurred on Sept. 21 and Ferrari's body was located by Sheriff's deputies who were investigating a missing person's report two days later.

Other charges against Bolden include second degree murder, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, and third degree burglary as well as fourth degree grand larceny and tampering with physical evidence. If convicted on the first-degree murder charge Bolden could face life without parole.

The case was investigated by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Identification Unit and the District Attorney's Office. After his arrest, Bolden was sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail and is set to be arraigned on Friday.
