Michael Sean De Lorenzo, a Poughkeepsie Resident, Dies at 54

Michael Sean De Lorenzo, 54, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died on May 22, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 24, 1962, Michael was the son of Michael De Lorenzo, M.D. and Vera A. (Petersen) De Lorenzo. He was the Vice President of CB Strain for DSI in Poughkeepsie for 6 years until his retirement in 2016.

A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, Michael was a respected member of the community known for his character, honor and integrity in both his personal and professional lives. As a man of his word, he was always quick to lend a helping hand that his family and friends could count on. Michael’s interests included boating, golf, classic cars, motocross, and spending time with his many friends.

On September 17, 1994 in Wappingers Falls, Michael married Susan Andrea Ford who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Anthony Michael De Lorenzo and Jessica Danielle Ford-De Lorenzo; his siblings, Deidre M. Lynch of Hopewell Junction, NY, Maribeth De Lorenzo of Washington, DC, Maryellen Coon Giovinazzo of Beacon, NY, Christopher J. De Lorenzo of Buffalo, NY, and Michael D. Coon of Miami, FL, and his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his stepmother, Patricia Louise De Lorenzo, his grandparents, Mary Flynn Petersen, and Anthony and Mary (Pechillo) De Lorenzo, as well as his sister Elizabeth A. Coon.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
